Read the facts...
In recent days there have been several stories published in The Advocate regarding Mayor Malloy's drastic cut to Belltown's budget. These articles contain inaccurate statistics of our response numbers and present a one sided view of the situation. For the real facts, read our responses to these stories in the commentary section.

You may have received a flyer...
Belltown volunteers are distributing flyers to inform the community of the 90% cut to our operating budget. In the coming weeks, members will be going door-to-door in Belltown to collect signatures on our petition for the mayor to restore our budget.
Budget cut by 90%
The budget for the Belltown Volunteer Fire Department, which protects your lives and property, has been cut by 90%!
Your tax money, collected for fire protection in the Belltown district, is being diverted for other uses by Mayor Malloy. This funding must be restored to the Belltown Fire District according to the city charter.
The Belltown Fire Department is now staffed 100% by volunteers, the yearly budget allotment helps pay for the operations of the department.
Mayor Malloy has cut the funding to Belltown while providing full budgets to neighboring fire departments which agreed to his reorganization plan.
To ensure your safety, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Sign our petition requesting that Mayor Malloy restore funding for YOUR fire department and contact the Mayor directly
